Do you find yourself forgetting things that are just too important? For years, my entire life in fact, I've never been able to remember to take my supplements faithfully. I cannot tell you how many times I've lost my keys or forgotten where I last laid my glasses or my checklist (which you will see is ironic)
Can you relate?
It is one of the most irritating things in life to feel like something is forgotten or cannot be found. Over the last year, I've really been honing in on solutions for these irritations and I have an answer, but it's not one I wanted to hear.
You probably don't want to hear it either.
There is a powerful solution that not only relieves the irritation, but also, when used properly it brings peace. We can all use a little more peace of mind, right? The solution is the almighty, albeit painful to implement, checklist. I know it sounds silly and possibly too simple, but it works.
Frustrations compounded.
Several weeks ago I became ill. At yet another visit to the doctor she mentioned that I had been sick a lot in the last year and that I have to do some things to build up my immunity. So besides the frustrations of multiple colds and bronchitis twice in less than 12 months, now I have these supplements that I must remember to take faithfully.
I'm quite proud to report that for more than a month I've only missed taking my supplements once and that was an evening that I was just too exhausted. I took a late afternoon nap and did not get up again that evening. How did I stay so faithful?
Faithful is as faithful does.
It's so simple it is almost irritating, but not as annoying as being forgetful. My answer, my tool, is a checklist. For this purpose it's a simple Excel file that I store in my Evernote. Each Sunday when I am planning my week, I open it, make changes and print it. That week's checklist, stays with my supplements.

The Power of the Checklist
If you are like me and you feel accomplished by being able to check a box this will make a difference for you as it has for me. It's evolved over the weeks and now it's more than medicine and supplements. It includes some other wellness and beauty activities that I've longed to make a habit and have never been consistent in doing. So it now includes a weekly detox bath, facial mask, and some exercises. It's kind of personal, but if you want a blank one, just comment below and I'll make it available.
How you can Implement
- Decide what irritation you want to end
- Make a checklist and use it
- Update your checklist often – a checklist is not set in stone; it will evolve with your needs
Beyond feeling accomplished, knowing you've checked something off your list gives you peace of mind. You don't have to think about it again, until it's time to think about it again. Now you can use your brain for good instead of frantic irritations.
Share your checklist ideas in the comments, or feel free to tell me I've gone completely mad. Either way…
Keep dancing the dream!
