Christmas Creativity
One of my favorite things about Christmas is the opportunity to be creative. It’s more than putting up a tree, or in my case multiple trees. It’s an opportunity to add our own personality to a continuing tradition. I challenge myself to think outside the box. My Etsy shop is stocked with tableware and home décor that I’ve repurposed. I use that same concept with my kitchen Christmas tree.
O Christmas Tree Upcycle
It’s silly that I love Christmas salt & pepper shakers. I had a few sets, but never really used them. I would just set them out to be decorative. Then last year it hit me, upcycle them into ornaments. Perfect for a kitchen Christmas tree. Right?!? All I did was feed some wire through the holes in the top of each shaker and viola! They are now ornaments.

Christmas Repurposed
The other repurposed decoration on our kitchen Christmas tree is cookie cutters. Not just Christmas cutters either. I like to show our family’s personality. We have a couple dog bone cutters, a guitar, a music note, and a few others. It’s fun and they get to be used for more than just making cookies.

So what do you think? Does incorporating tradition and personal creativity work on my kitchen Christmas tree?
What creative decorating have you been doing for Christmas? I hope you are already thinking how to upcycle Grandma’s Christmas thing-a-ma-bob into something new for your family Christmas décor. Be sure to leave a comment…I’d love to see what you are doing with your creative muscle.
Blessings & Merry Christmas,

I would have never thought to use cookie cutters and salt shakers as decorations on the tree, but that is such a cute idea! This is such an adorable website. Thanks for sharing your ideas with others! 🙂
Thanks so much for reading and the compliments. It makes it worth it to know someone appreciates it.
