All Your Hats Require Productivity
To truly succeed, you need to have a process for documenting your goals, your dreams, your to do list and even who you really want to be now, next year, and years from now. After years of searching for the best way to handle being (in no particular order), a mom, wife, sister, daughter, leader, crafter, business owner, dog lover, friend, homeowner, employee, boss, and a daughter to the King of Kings, I have finally stumbled on a process that makes sense to me and incorporates all those hats into one searchable system that makes it easy to keep up with everything.
The process is called Getting Things Done, there are books and more about it. I encourage you to discover it for yourself. I purchased the book, Getting Things Done: The Art of Stress-Free Productivity on audible and have listened to it twice. I will tell you the book alone was a little overwhelming and complicated at first. Once I watched the videos at afterthebook.com and implemented the process in Evernote I was hooked.
Productivity Is More Than Just Organizing
Everyone has always told me they wish they were as organized as I appear to be. IMHO I am never organized enough. Once I started following the GTD processes and principles, it has made me start to feel like I am organized, in control, and productive. Before GTD I had gotten to a place of constant stress, feeling very overwhelmed and frustrated. After GTD, I feel light, prepared, and like I can make a difference in any area I focus my next actions. I hope you will give it a try. In addition to the links in the paragraphs above, I have listed them again below:

A great blog series at thesimpledollar.com, has 14 posts that expand on the principles of GTD and gives some real life examples of how it works. The link will take you to the last of the 14 post series, which has a link to each of the previous 13 posts.

Another great resource is the free videos you can find at afterthebook.com. He does have a book that goes into more detail, I have not read it yet, so I cannot recommend it…yet. BTW I LOVE the quality of the videos and the fact that they are short! I would watch one and implement what he taught and then watch the next ones. Since I was doing this over a several day period of time and listening to the book as much as possible, it really all connected for me.

I am trying out a few podcasts to see if one, of the several that are out there, that discusses the GTD concept and is worth recommending. Check back soon to see if I’ve added that or other recommendations.

I’d love to hear from you, if you already are on the GTD bandwagon or once you get started. I found that reading comments in some of the resources I listed above helped me, so when you leave comments and questions, here it will help everyone else as well.
Blessings,
