Your Private Oasis
While I did not think writing about resort style living would be easy, I did not know if would be so difficult. So far I’ve only been able to find 22 pins to put on the Pinterest board. Hopefully by the time you get to read this there will be more. This style does remind me of several others, but it has its own unique feel.
I Never Want to Leave
Have you ever gone to a spa or been on vacation and thought, “I could live like this forever.”? The sheets, the comfort, the view from the windows, and the ambiance is hard to leave. You could incorporate resort style decor into your home and have that feeling all the time.
So Many Options
Resort style has a lot of variety and options, however there is a common thread that runs through all of them luxurious comfort. With that in mind you’ll need to start with what kind of resort style you want to mimic – mountain, ski lodge, spa getaway or extravagant play-place.
Colors
The first thing I noticed while I was pinning examples is that there seem to be two distinct color schemes, depending on what they type of resort. One is colorful, bright, cheerful (can you say Disney?). The other is neutral, warm and natural like the mountains or the beach.

Styled fireplace
Huge windows with a great view
Open airy floor-plan
Comfy furniture designed to encourage interaction (Like in Hollywood Regency Style)
Beautiful spa-like bathrooms
Sleek clean lines (like in Minimalism Style)
Playful and/or stylish accessories
Resort style is also too perfect. Perfectly clean, ordered and balanced. A real resort comes with a housekeeping crew to keep your home away from home clean. If only decorating your home like a resort meant the housekeeper would be stopping by daily to keep it pristine!
